2007年10月9日，是John Lennon诞辰67岁的日子，这天晚上在冰岛（Iceland）首都Reykjavik的Videy岛上，John Lennon 的遗孀Yoko Ono为The Imagine Peace Tower（和平光塔）举行了隆重的揭幕仪式。据报道，光塔是一束从一个圆形基座射向天空的光柱，呈现“塔”状。基座上用24国语言写着“Imagine Peace”，同时周围埋有来自全球大约50万个装有“和平愿望”的胶囊。而在揭幕现场演奏的就是我们今天所要听到的这首歌Imagine（想象）。
