The 12th International Automobile & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2007 as a short), which gains tremendous attentions, will be held in Shanghai New International Exhibition Center from April 22nd to 28th 2007.

Since its initiation in 1985, Auto Shanghai is the earliest international trade auto show in China. In June 2004, Auto Shanghai became the first UFI approved Chinese auto show by getting the identification from UFI successfully. With the development of Chinese and international automotive industry and accumulating experience of 20 years, Auto Shanghai has grown into the most authoritative exhibition in China as one of the most influential international exhibitions. Starting from 2003, authoritative industry associations with years of experience of hosting country-level big auto shows i.e. China Association of Automobile Manufactures and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council have involved into the exhibition as organizers to team up with the original organizer-China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai Sub-Council. The closely collaboration among three organizers has laid a solid foundation for growing from a regional auto show to country level even international exhibition thus to position Auto Shanghai and build up its authority.. The Auto Shanghai 2005, with a total exhibition area of 120,000 square meters, attracted 1,036 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions, 5,380 reporters of 1,020 media from 35 countries and regions, and also 391,593 visitors from 113 countries and regions which jointly witnessed the success and resplendence of the Auto Shanghai.

Auto Shanghai 2007 is organized by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai Sub-Council and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Automotive Sub-Council, co-organized by World Expo Group-Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd, MMG-Messe Muenchen International and IMAG- Internationaler Messe- und Ausstellungsdienst GmbH, specially supported by China Machinery Industry Federation, supported by The Society of Automotive Engineers of China (SAE China).



Auto Shanghai 2007 will preempt the whole 9 indoor exhibition halls ( 7 halls on automobile manufacture, the other 2 on auto components), 2 outdoor temporary hall and outside venue of Shanghai New International Exhibition Center with a total exhibition scale of over 140,000 square meters. Regarding the setting of the schedule, the organizer would make April 20th and 21st 2 days as the media day available only to domestic and overseas media, which aims at facilitating the reports and journalists to report the Auto Shanghai in a comprehensive way and to conduct the interview in a detailed and unfeigned way. April 22nd and 23rd are trade visitor days. April 24th to 28th is open to public. The exhibition will present Passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, special-purpose vehicles, auto design and new concept product, automotive parts & components, car audio, tire, measuring devices, maintenance equipment, car products, etc… which showcase the latest achievements of international automotive industry and leading technologies and products from domestic companies, reflects the current development level of automotive industry.

The theme of Auto Shanghai 2007 is “Technology and Nature in Harmony”. Automobile is no longer a means of transportation by replacing walk only with the continuous improvement of technology and development of automotive industry. Nowadays, the improvement and innovation of car manufacturing craft has made the driving a convenient, comfortable and safe process. Moreover, the people-oriented operational design and safe technology have brought drivers more enjoyable experience, which can make you feel the human being and automobile in harmony. It is a trend that leading international automobile manufacturers have paid much more attention to capability of environment protection. Low energy consumption, sun-powered, non- pollution and zero exhaustion have become the key topics of research in recent years. As auto show is treated as a platform to release the latest technology, the environment protection automobiles will be the hot topics on every auto shows. The goal of technology and nature in harmony can be achieved through the transformation of automobile.


Auto Shanghai has grown 14 times in terms of exhibition scale from 10,000 square meters of its initiation to current140, 000. As far as scale is concerned, Auto Shanghai can be ranked among world influential auto show. Besides the scale, the benchmark of an exhibition whether it retains the first-class and leading position is the internationalization of its quality. Therefore, in order to make Auto Shanghai one of the famous world auto, the concept of organizer is to enhance the quality going with the expand of the scale, to improve the service standard and management skill, and to make it bigger and stronger. In the view of above, the organizer will invite CEOs from biggest automobile companies, request industry giants to participate in line with criteria’s of top auto show and increase the number of global first-issue automobile. In the meantime, the organizer will invite the famous automobile design companies participating in Auto Shanghai and launching their new design concept in order to reflect our advantage on technology. Organizer will share communication and promotion channels with Paris auto show to further expand the scale and quality of overseas visitors. Organizer is planning to implement a road show outside the hall and to make the visitors feel being involved and interactive by having the new automobile “move”. With regard to provide the people-oriented service, Organizer will add another media day to make it 2 days upon the practice of world famous auto show, crating a more convenient situation for the exhibitors to promote new products and for the media to report. We will set up a big press center with sound facilities usual to provide reporters a high standard services. Organizer will extend the preparation period of some halls to have companies fully present its image. Organizer will pay more attention to details and enhance the management skill. The overall promotion plan, artwork, design and official website will be gone through a bidding procedure to increase the quality. Organizer will ensure the safety and qualify of the exhibition by identifying the certification of related suppliers and vendors. Organizer will add more break area for exhibitors and visitors, enhance the catering and traffic service.



2007 Shanghai International Auto Exhibition will attract many important automobile companies in the whole world once again

The twelfth Shanghai International Auto Industry Exhibition (2007 Shanghai International Auto Exhibition for short) will be held from April 22nd to 28th next year in Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. Taking “the perfect harmony of people, automobiles, and nature” as the subject, Shanghai Auto Exhibition will attract the extensive attention and active participation of many important automobile companies in the whole world.
2007 Shanghai Auto Exhibition, general scale exceeding 140,000 square meters, will exploit all 9 interior exhibition mansions as well as outside space of Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. 7 exhibition mansions (W1-W5, E1-E2) will be for the display of entire automobiles and 2 (E3-E4) for the display of components and parts. Meantime, 2 temporary mansions will be built outside for the display of components and parts. The space outside will be for the display of business automobiles. Judging from the area partition, entire automobiles will occupy eighty thousands square meters, components and parts forty thousands square meters and business automobiles outside twenty thousands square meters.
2007 Shanghai International Auto Exhibition is held by China Auto Industry Association, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Branch and China Council for the promotion of International Trade Automobile Industry Branch. The environmental protecting automobile will become the hot spot

The twelfth Shanghai International Auto Industry Exhibition will be held from April 22nd to 28th next year in Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. According to the auspices, the subject of Shanghai Auto Exhibition next year will be “the perfect harmony of people, automobiles, and nature”. The automobiles of low energy consumption, solar energy, no contamination, zero emission will become one big hot spot.
Xianjin Chen, the president of Shanghai Expo (Group) Co.Ltd., said:” We are seeking for the automobiles which have much stronger abilities of environmental protection and energy conservation.” Shanghai will consider whether using the environmental protecting automobiles for transportation during the World’s Fair. Meantime, as the announcing platform of the up-to-date technologies of automobiles, auto exhibitions will certainly display the new models of environmental protecting automobiles. On the occasion, Shanghai Auto Exhibition will concurrently invite the world- famous companies of automobile design and promote new conceptual design to embody its leading advantages on technology. The design of these new concept automobiles will take environmental protection as the subject.
All 9 interior exhibition mansions of Shanghai New International Exhibition Center will be exploited in the Shanghai Auto Exhibition, including 7 ones for the display of entire automobiles and 2 for the display of components and parts. In all, general scale will exceed 140,000 square meters including 2 temporary mansions and space outside. On the occasion , every automobile magnate will participate following the first level standard of auto exhibitions and increase the quantity of world-wide debut automobiles.
According to Jiang Lei, the executive vice-director of China Auto Industry Association, the number of Shanghai auto exhibitions increases gradually at present, but the number of large-scale ones does not exceed 5. In addition, Shanghai International Auto Industry Exhibition has the maximal scale among these ones.

The global auto manufacturers bringing the related brands of company launch an attack to this pageant as one of the most A -class auto show with global influence. CEOs or chairmans from GM, VW, BMW, Toyota will come visit the show.
Saloon cars: Ford Group (including Volvo, Mazda, Ford, Jaguar , Land Rover), Volkswagen Group (including Germany Volkswagen, Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, Audi autos, FAW-Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Skoda), GM Autos(including USA GM, Shanghai GM, SAAB, etc.) Daimler Chrysler Group (including the Benz, Maybach, Benz truck, Beijing Jeep, Chrysler), and BMW (Rolls-Royce) would all attend the auto exhibition in the pattern of scale group of the A-level auto exhibition. The Shanghai Auto Group, Chang’ a Group and Chery so on at home all present competitively with the foreign manufacturers, which present the confidence to make the domestic auto bigger and stronger. Brilliance Jinbei, Great Wall Auto, BYD, Chery ,Southeast, Greeley Jianghuai, Southern Vapour ,Huaitai, Iveco, Hafei, Huapu, Zhongshun, etc. all exhibit their own power competitively. The key brands of FAW Group gather in the exhibition, which draws great attention of their senior management who will come visit the show. Dongfeng for the first time group attending Auto Shanghai. Infiniti of NISSAN, ACURA of Honda,GMC, Harley Motor, Shuguang, Zhongou,Tianma take part in Auto Shanghai for the first time.
The amount of exhibited vehicles imported directly from overseas is around 100, which will be first show in China. Concept cars and energy saving environmental cars will be the highlight of the show. GM and Shanghai GM will launch two concept cars, Buick Riviera and Chevrolet Volt as global first appearance together with other brands at a total exhibition scale of 4500 sqm. The total exhibited car type is 37, Ford will promote its innervation design and continue its trendy on energy saving and environmental protection oriented. Ford will bring its world mix momentum SUV- 2008 Ford Yihu mix momentum, which is the first pure mix momentum SUV on the world.
Commercial vehicles ,trucks and SUV: including the FAW auto, Shanghai Auto, Renault, Chongqing Auto, Man, Benz, Northern Benz, Ford, Shaanxi Auto, An'hui Dongfeng Nissandiesel, Northern Auto Futian, Jinhua car. In the regard of parts, besides 10 country pavilions, the department of commerce of US will first organize exhibition delegation. Delphi, Denso, Bosch,ZF, EDAG, and BRIGESTON, YOKOHAMA, ALPINE, Clarion audio devices would all present the updated technologies and products at the same time.
Preview of important activities
Press Day, April 20 and 21, exhibitors will have its own press conference on their own booth or the press conference meeting room of exhibition hall (E1,M16)
Opening Ceremony, organizers will host a brilliant performance at south square of SNIEC at night of April 21 as an opening ceremony. During the opening ceremony, organizers will conduct an charity donation activity to Special Olympics. Press is warmly welcomed to cover this event.
Seminars, Technical Communication Conferences would be held during the exhibition, which involves the technology and products and service on auto manufacturing , machining and processing ,etc. and provide the Chinese and foreign professional with a good opportunities for discussing the technology and exchanging information.

For exhibitors, the organizers extend the period of booth fitting and offer extra value added services such as hosting a pre show meeting by involving related parties i.e. fire control, venue management, freight forwarding, booth constructing and shooting specific problems; setting up a exhibition onsite VIP lounge to provide a ideal place to meet customers; establishing onsite intellectual property office, etc

For visitors,
1. Involving High technology, eclectic show guidance devices equipped with multimedia interactive technology will be placed at eye-catching locations, such as main entrance hall, dypass between exhibition halls to leading stream of people and introduce floor plan, display allocation, service facilities. 5. Systematization parking arrangement and shuttle bus, organizers have prepared several parking lots around Metro line 2 with 500-600 parking spaces and arranged free shuttle bus from exhibition the subway stations and the exhibition hall.
